Local charity Fair Frome enjoyed 10 days of successful trading at their pop-up shop in the Westway Precinct in July, which raised over £1,600.
Coordinator Matt Thacker said, “Our volunteer Margaret Gilmour managed the shop and we are indebted to her and our great team of volunteers for their hard work and commitment in making this such a successful event.
“We have a great team of volunteers on board and tremendous support from the community – both through their donations and coming in regularly to buy it all back again! We really appreciate Andrew Prince’s support in making the unit available for us.”
Fair Frome runs the town’s Food Bank and other projects, including a series of community lunch events which provide a great opportunity for fun social events and enable individuals and families to chat with local service providers.
The next event is planned for Saturday 29th August at Welshmill Park from 12.00pm – 2.00pm. Activities and refreshments will be on offer and people are also encouraged to bring their own picnic.
