Are you involved in a local community or grassroots group that needs funding?
Groups still have a time to apply for money from the Somerset Community Foundation, which will dish out its next round of grants in May.
The foundation supported over 230 local causes last year, and the deadline for its next donations is Friday 12th May.
The foundation’s Mary Hancock says, “We award grant funding for most types of community activity or project, including core costs.
“In 2015/16 we supported over 230 local charities, voluntary groups and social enterprises in our county.
“We run four grant rounds each year, and the next deadline to apply for funding is the 12th May. Please call our friendly grants team for more information.”

There are two types of grant available. Foundation grants average £1,200, and Comic Relief Community Cash grants are between £500 and £1,000 – the deadline for Comic Relief cash is Friday 5th May.
