ORCHARDLEIGH golfers recently elected new officers for the 2017 season and donated over £3,000 to Dorothy House.
Orchardleigh Golf Club’s Ladies Section held its AGM at the clubhouse recently.
At the meeting, the new officers were elected for 2017 and outgoing captain, Pat Jones, reported on her successful year at the helm.
She announced that the section raised the impressive amount of £3,194.90 for her chosen charity, Dorothy House Hospice Care, and thanked everyone for their help and support throughout the year.
Pat then welcomed in the new lady captain, Marion Underhill, wishing her a successful year in 2017 and handed her the captain’s sweater.
Prizes were given out to the monthly Medal and Stableford competition winners. Medal winners were: Sarah Hynds, Liz Attenborough, Gail Painter (2), Loes de Kleuver, Michele Fairweather, Anne Regler, Sarah Doble, Lorraine Collings and Sue Sweet.
Stableford winners were: Anne Regler (2), Lorraine Collings (2), Carol Weightman (2), Sarah Hynds, Gail Painter, Diana Bullock, Veronica Cherry (2), Rachel Priddle and Loes de Kleuver.
On 1st December, Steph Cox from Dorothy House visited the clubhouse to receive the cheque for £3,194.90 from Pat Jones.
Steph expressed huge gratitude to the ladies for their efforts, as she explained how it costs around £10,000 per day to keep the Dorothy House charity running.
Orchardleigh Golf Club as a whole, which includes the Men and Senior sections as well as the Ladies, raised a fantastic total of £11,249.74. The incoming club captains intend to continue raising money for Dorothy House in 2017.
