Do you have a great idea for Frome but can’t find the funds to make it happen? Why not apply for a community grant from Frome Town Council?
There’s still time to apply, but be quick as the first round of applications closes on the 21st of December.
Groups can apply for any amount between £300 and £2,000. To qualify for the grant, you will need to demonstrate that your project(s) will have a positive impact on the prosperity, environmental sustainability and health and wellbeing of Frome residents.
Councillor Bielby said, “It’s important that community organisations are supported and this is a great chance to make a difference to Frome. Any projects that meet the criteria will be considered by the grants advisory panel and this will enable projects that sit outside events to be taken forward.”
Once the grant is handed over, it’s all up to you, although the town council can give you a helping hand promoting your venture. Last year’s grants encompassed varied events. For example, the Children’s Festival Christmas Party (pictured right) applied for a grant and Frome Town Council supported the event. This year, groups wanting to run events can apply to the people’s budget and grants can be used for other projects. The hope is to extend the reach of council funding.
