With all the 70s, 80s and dance music nights that are run in Frome, two residents of a certain age wondered why there wasn’t something for their generation – the early 90s – and more specifically ‘GRUNGE’.
To address this, friends Cole Henley and Matthew Smith have organised ‘Grungeraiser’, a charity music night at the Westway Cinema on Saturday 7th February.
The event will raise funds for the cinema and Stoney Stratton based charity Alive & Well that helps villagers drill water wells in west Africa.
A live band and DJ will play music from Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Pixies, Sonic Youth, The Smashing Pumpkins and all the other great bands from the period.
There will be also be a raffle of grunge memorabilia including signed records, books and a prize for the best dressed grunge fan!
Advance tickets are on sale now at the cinema for £8 – more details can be found at facebook.com/grungeraiser or twitter @grungeraiser.
