BRENDAN Lynch, 2012 Finalist of The Great British Bake Off, invited staff from Active and In Touch to a guided tour of his garden, followed by tea and his ‘amazing jam, cream and almond scones’.
“What a treat!” said the group. “Brendan has been living in Frome for almost seven years, during which time he has transformed the extensive gardens surrounding his home. He benefited from there being a number of trees in a woodland area whilst his creative abilities have allowed him to develop many other areas with vibrantly coloured flowers, plants and shrubs, designed to ensure all year round beauty and colour.
“Monty a soft Australian Labrador-poodle cross, accompanied the party for some of the tour and kept a friendly eye on them as they sat down for their quintessentially English Garden Afternoon Tea.
“Lucky citizens from Frome and further afield had the pleasure of a similar experience as Brendan had already played host during Frome Festival’s Hidden Gardens weekend. Some of the visitors had also contributed to Active and In Touch, thanks to Brendan selling plants from the garden with the proceeds being donated to the Charity.
“It is hoped that there will be a continued relationship between Brendan and Active in Touch with further Open Gardens, afternoon teas and possibly Baking Demonstrations. Please keep an eye out for these exciting developments.”
