AN employee of the Coventry Building Society in Frome has handed over a cheque for £1,029.50 to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance after running the Frome Half Marathon.
Julie Crabbe ran the Frome Half Marathon in July this year. “I really enjoyed the whole experience’ and I am inspired to run more marathons in the future,” she said. “I am very proud to have raised so much money for the air ambulance.”
Branch manager Anne Dimery said, “Here at the Coventry we are very proud of Julie for this massive achievement and also very grateful to all our customers for showing their support by sponsoring Julie.
“Each year, every branch of The Coventry Building Society choses a charity to support and this year, here in Frome branch, we have been supporting Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
“We have been successfully raising funds throughout the year with a raffle during the Frome Festival Fashion Show, an Easter raffle back in April, plus our regular book sales and a grant from our head office.
“With the £1,029.50 raised from Julie’s half marathon, the grand total so far is £3,307.47.”
