Two health information events are being held at Frome Medical Practice this month, aimed at supporting patients on key health topics.
The first event, a Pelvic Health Talk, is offered as part of the Women’s Health Hub at the practice and takes place on Tuesday 23rd June from 6pm to 7pm.
Organisers say, “Many women experience symptoms of poor pelvic health in silence but it doesn’t have to be that way. Patients are invited to come to the talk to learn more about common pelvic health issues, as well as ways to improve symptoms and support wellbeing. The session will be led by a pelvic health physiotherapist and aims to empower women to take control of their health.”
On Thursday 25th June, there is a focus on men’s health with patients invited to ‘Let’s Talk Prostate Cancer’.
The event will run from 6pm to 7pm and aims to raise awareness, encourage open conversation and provide access to information about prostate cancer.
Dr Dan Cook and Julie Carey-Downes from the Health Connections Team will be hosting the event. They will be joined by a patient, who will be sharing his experience of prostate cancer. The evening aims to connect people and families with lived experience of prostate cancer, with the hope that a new support group can be formed. Plans for this will also be shared on the evening.
Events are free but places are limited. Please register your place if you would like to attend. Further details and links to register to attend are available via social media or the Frome Medical Practice website https://www.fromemedicalpractice.co.uk/events
