FROME Town Council is on a quest to find Frome’s Favourite Tree in anticipation of the launch of the Tree Charter in November.
Cara Naden, community projects officer said, “The Tree Charter aims to protect trees and woods, preserve habitats for diverse species and plant for the future. We love our town and all its natural charms, it’s important trees aren’t forgotten about. This is a chance to champion a tree you love. With so many trees to choose from, how do you pick just one?
“Perhaps it’s an old familiar Oak that holds a special place in your heart, a tree-mendous wildlife haven, or the Cherry tree your children play under after school. Whatever your tree story, the council want to hear it.
“All you need to do is take a picture of your favourite tree in Frome, don’t forget to tell us where it is and what it means to you. At the end of September a shortlist will be drawn up and a public vote will take place to choose the town’s overall favourite tree. In the meantime, do come to the Town Hall and sign the charter to show your support for trees countrywide.”
Send you favourite tree by email- to info@frometowncoucil.gov.uk , hashtag #FromeFavouriteTree on Twitter or Instagram or bring your photo in to the Town Hall. To find out more about the Charter for Trees, Woods and People here: www.treecharter.uk
