FROME Lions Club are launching an appeal to raise £1,000 for more bulbs to be planted on the banks of the river.
Lion Mike Geake explains, “Last Autumn over 1,000 new daffodil bulbs were planted on the land managed by Frome Town Council (as you look from the main car park towards the Westway). This was paid for by donations, assisted by the council, and in the late spring of 2021 they gave a magnificent flowering – and will every year of course.
“Frome Lions Club are delighted to be supporting this initiative and are now launching an appeal to raise £1,000 to buy more bulbs, both daffodils and other varieties to plant in the Autumn of 2021, working alongside the council Rangers team.
“So, if you want to help make this part of our town bloom for years to come, why not make a donation? For example, £10 will buy 75 Daffodils, £20 (or six coffees) will buy 150.
“All monies donated to this appeal will be used to buy bulbs and will not go into Frome Lions Club general funds.
