Hunting Raven Books is teaming up with Frome-based birth coach, antenatal teacher and author Eleanor Hayes for an event that aims to give women and their partners a helping hand in preparing for birth.
Eleanor’s own personal experience of having two wildly different births – one traumatic and one awesome – led to Eleanor embarking upon extensive training and setting up her business Birthzang to help other parents.
She says, “Most pregnant mums plan for a natural birth, however in the UK over 50% of births include some form of drugs for pain relief, or an intervention to help the baby be born. I wrote Helping Birth as a guide for parents looking for reliable information about birth pain relief options and common interventions in labour. I hope it will help parents-to-be to make empowered and informed decisions before, during and after childbirth.”
The event will take place at the Hubnub Centre, Whittox Lane, Frome on Saturday 11 May at 7pm. Tickets are £7 (or £10 for a joint ticket to admit two). The talk will include a Q&A and copies of the book will be available to purchase on the night care of Winstone’s Hunting Raven Books. To book online go to www.bit.ly/ HelpingBirth, call 01373 473111, email winstonebooks3@gmail.com or pop into Hunting Raven Books on Cheap Street.
