Frome’s local charity We Hear You (WHY), will be celebrating another successful year with a fundraising ball.
WHY are pulling out all the stops to provide local supporters with an Oscars themed evening of Hollywood glamour, fine food, fireworks and music to mark this big event.
Guests will arrive to a string quartet and will start the celebrations with a drinks reception before sitting down to a five course meal followed by a stunning fireworks display and an evening of music and entertainment so guests can dance the night away.
The event which is being sponsored by Orchardleigh House, and Marston Foods will be held at the Enchanted Walled Garden and Orangery at Orchardleigh House. Tickets are selling quickly but there is still time to reserve yours. A luxury Mulberry handbag and Helicopter ride have been donated to auction on the night along with some other incredible prizes.
Since the service started 22 years ago, by local lady Jill Miller, it has gone from strength to strength. Starting initially as a telephone helpline for woman affected by breast cancer, WHY has grown to provide free professional counselling to hundreds of families affected by all types of cancer and other life threatening illness every year across Somerset, Wiltshire and BANES.
Gemma Wilkes, fundraiser for WHY said, “Our ball last year was a huge success and we have even higher expectations that this year’s Oscars theme will make for a fabulous evening.
“It’s one of our biggest fundraising events of the year and we are hopeful that our supporters from Frome and beyond will feel able to join us in what promises to be a magical and fun evening, raising much needed funds to support our service which faces a growing demand as more and more people find themselves in the difficult situation of coming to terms with a diagnosis of a life threatening condition.”
