The vital fortnightly operational checking of Frome’s Community Defibrillator Scheme by the Friends of Frome Hospital ‘guardian team’ has a bright new look for the winter months with the allocation of special high visibility jackets for their safety when they make their roadside site inspections.
There are a team of eight volunteer guardians who check and maintain the bright green cabinets, with their sophisticated defibrillator pack housed inside, regularly each and every fortnight, reporting their ready-to-go status to the 999 emergency system and that the units are fully functioning if needed in the event of a cardiac trauma situation.
The Friends of the Hospital also announce that the 24th publicly-available defibrillator (PAD) is currently being installed at the village hall in Buckland Dinham.
