Over 140 ladies from the District Inner Wheel met at Edgar Hall, Somerton last month for a picnic which raised over £1,000 for Life Education Wessex.
The ladies brought their own food, most clubs bringing food to share, some even bringing a candelabra!
After having eaten their meal, and having visited some fund raising stalls which included a large raffle, Helen from Life Education gave a very interesting talk, with slides, explaining the role their classroom and Educator plays enhancing the mental and physical education of the children aged between 5 and 13 years of age.
The evening raised an amazing sum over £1,000 pounds for the charity to help in the raising of a healthier and happier generation. More money will be raised during the year for the charity.
