Frome Town Council will hold its Civic Ceremony on the afternoon of Sunday 11th July at Christchurch Frome and will provide an opportunity for the town council to recognise formally the enormous contribution that Sally White and Alan Fone have made to the lives of the people of Frome by awarding them Frome Civic Awards.
They will be presented with a specially commissioned paperweight and certificate in recognition of their unstinting work in the community over many years.
Mayor of Frome, cllr Helen Sprawson-White said: “Sally has been very involved in the church for many years, has been a Samaritan for 11 years and visits the sick, lonely and bereaved. She is a lady of great integrity, love and friendship.
“Alan has been involved in local charities for over 30 years, sings in the St John’s Church choir and has been recording manager for the Frome Talking Newspaper since 1980.
“Both Sally and Alan have shown amazing commitment, are an inspiration to all of us and have, without doubt, helped make Frome a better place,” cllr Sprawson-White concluded.
