The Frome Times’ ‘Person of the Year 2010’ competition is now open, and it’s time for you to make your nominations.
Frome has many individuals who work hard throughout the year to help other people, improve their town, and raise money for charity. Perhaps your nominee has shown acts of bravery, or offered voluntary services which have benefitted the local community?
People are being asked to put forward their Person of the Year 2010 nominations, the only condition being that the person is from Frome or one of the surrounding villages or works in the town.
Ian Drew, editor of the Frome Times said, “This is a chance to nominate someone who deserves recognition for their outstanding actions over the past year or who has had the biggest impact on life in the town.”
Nominations can be made by filling out the form inside this week’s paper and returning it to the Frome Times office at 31 Market Place, Melksham, Wiltshire, SN12 6ES. Alternatively, your can email frometimes@btconnect.com stating your name, address and contact number with your nominee’s name and why you are nominating them. (We won’t disclose who has made the nominations).
Last year’s ‘person of the year ‘award went to Humphrey Barnes, chair of Frome Memorial Theatre Trust, who fought hard 25 years ago to keep the theatre open when it was in danger of being closed, and continues to be a leading light today. Humphrey has also been actively involved with Frome Amateur Operatic Society since 1951.
