Vibe, a new club that has just opened on Palmer Street Frome, will be hosting its first big club night with live artists including a performance from international superstar Master Shortie with proceeds going towards a Kenyan Children’s home – all of which is free entry.
Sarah Hillman, founder and financial supporter of the Mama Upendo Children’s Home in Kenya, is helping to put on the night to raise money to acquire the title deed for the children’s home. She said, “At the moment there are 37 children living at the home, which I have to pay rent for every month.
“I am in the process of trying to raise funds so that I can have the land subdivided, acquire the title under Mama Upendo’s name and begin to build the children a new home that could accommodate even more children in the future.”
Vide, a part of Bar 11, has undergone extensive refurbishment to now include an upstairs club with a large dance floor and bar area, with a lighting display and a new sound system. Bar 11 itself has had its downstairs bar and lounge renovated, and now has a spacious interior to accommodate even more.
The club is hosting its first big club night on Friday 18th February dubbed ‘Cookies and Cream’ – which will feature a host of performances from the likes of Risky Javan from the popular Channel 4 TV series – Seven Days, Twin Thing, Chinkilla, Kisella and Fifi & Africa.
The night will kick off with performances and leading on to a club night, with DJs from Bath, Bristol and Chippenham providing a wide variety of music to dance the night away to. There will be cheap drink promotions from 8.00pm-11.00pm, with proceeds going to MAMA Trust.
Sarah added, “This looks like it’s going to be the biggest night Frome has seen in a while, the event is free for all over 18s, so come early to avoid disappointment!”
