Italian concert pianist of international renown, Francesco Attesti, will be performing in Frome during his forthcoming UK tour, thanks to the Rotary Club of Frome.
Francesco, an Italian Rotarian, has very kindly given Frome the opportunity to raise funds for local Rotary charities by agreeing to perform at the Memorial Theatre on Friday 1st April at 7.30pm.
Francesco Attesti is an pianist of international acclaim. Among his generation of musicians, he is considered one of the finest interpreters of the Romantic and early 20th Century repertoire.
Francesco Attesti performs regularly in prestigious concert halls like the Philharmonia Hall of St Petersburg; Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Moscow and Columbia University in New York.
Also on the programme will be Beckington’s famous composer and flautist Mike Mower; Mike originally studied the flute at the London Royal Academy of Music, and as a freelance musician has played and recorded with jazz, rock and classical artists as diverse as Gill Evans, Tina Turner, Paul Weller, Bjork, James Galway and Ryuchi Sakamoto. Mike also works as a composer, writing newly commissioned works as an arranger for commercial music in a wide range of styles.
Francesco has very kindly agreed to accompany 11-year-old Joseph Pritchard from Witham Friary, who will be playing his cello. Joseph has only been playing cello for four years, but has displayed a huge potential musically and has recently been offered a place at Wells Cathedral School and gained the award of NCO Leverhulme Trust Scholar, in recognition of his outstanding performance at audition.
