Frome Town FC is rallying local support for their play-off semi final, away to Mangotsfield on Thursday, with a chance for promotion to the Zamaretto League’s Premier Division.
The Robins are already in the highest league in the club’s history and, after just two seasons, they have the opportunity to play in the Premier Division – if they can beat Mangotsfield and then the winners of the other semi final between Sholing and Hungerford Town.
If Town win against Mangotsfield, they will face Sholing away or Hungerford at home on Bank Holiday Monday, 2nd May.
Frome Town have already beaten Mangotsfield twice this season, but face a side who finished above them in the league and will go into the game as underdogs.
The game at Mangotsfield, kicks off at 3.00pm and fans are making travel arrangements for the fixture, with club secretary, Ian Pearce, encouraging supporters to check the Frome FC website for details.
He said, “There is a lot of chat on the forums about how everyone is getting to the game and if you are struggling for a lift, then I would suggest finding information on there.
“We know the amount of noise the Frome fans can make – we want to take all this support to Mangotsfield.
“Getting through the first stage is what we are focusing on,” said Ian. “We have three games in one week. It’s lucky that manager Darren Perrin has an able and large enough squad to handle the volume of matches.
“This is an historic match for Town and it would be great to take a good crowd to Mangotsfield. If we do make it through, then put a date in your diaries for the Play Off final on Bank Holiday Monday! Keep your eye on our website for full details.”
