Mums and dads from Frome, Westbury and the surrounding areas braved the temperamental June weather as the Big Feed was held in Victoria Park under the shelter of the bandstand.
One of the organisers, Sarah Holmes said, “The event was organised by local mums in response to the government’s announ-cement that funding for national breastfeeding aw-areness week had been cut.
“Working in association with the Frome branch of the NCT, we gathered approximately 30-plus mums and nursing infants and provided a variety of information leaflets advertising support networks for breastfeeding in the area.
“The event was also attended by representatives from La Leche League International, midwives, health visitors and NHS trained peer supporters.
“Our kind thanks to everyone who came and joined in and the photographers who came to record the event.”
