Frome Golf Club Seniors have presented a cheque for £1,838.10 to the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Captain, Bob Mills, presented the cheque to Sarah Hampton, regional fund manager, on Monday 14th November.
A cheque for £500 was also presented to Doug Lane (club vice captain) to be added to the club captain’s charity for this year – Dorothy House Hospice. The monies were raised over the summer season by charity medal days and sponsorship events, as well as the odd ‘fun day’.
The club says, “This lively bunch of seniors (average age well into their 70s!) had, as always, cheerfully responded to the challenge and raised far more than was anticipated at the start of the season.
“Any golfer, or potential golfer, over the age of 55 out there in the community who would like to join this very social band of men on a Monday or Thursday, please roll-up between 8.00 and 8.30am and you will receive a warm welcome. If you would like more information, please ring 01373 453410.”
