As winter now starts to grip, with colder temperatures accompanying the wind and the rain, patients at the Frome Medical Practice are being reminded that it is not yet too late to get their flu vaccination.
The vaccination is free to those over 65 together with those who are pregnant plus those with long term illnesses. Nasal spray vaccine is available for children aged 2-4. ‘Over 65s’ are also entitled to a free pneumonia vaccination providing life time cover.
Senior partner at the practice Dr Tina Merry said, “October is the month when we usually hold the bulk of our special flu clinics. However, this year, what with the great Indian Summer that we have all enjoyed, I think that a number of people quite understandably have just put the thought of winter and their flu vaccination behind them.
“However, I can confirm that it is definitely not too late to get your flu vaccination. Even though we are now well into November we would still be delighted to see you!”
Flu appointments can be booked online at www.fromemedicalpractice.co.uk or on the telephone on 01373 301301. Appointments can still be booked in person at the information desk at the practice.
Following on from the success of last month’s weekend clinic, patients will also be able to book into an additional Saturday clinic, this one being arranged to take place on Saturday 28th November.
