Frome Food Assembly, will celebrate its second birthday on Wednesday 7th December.
The community enterprise which allows people to buy their food directly from local farmers and growers is going strong after two years in the town.
“We will be hosting a birthday party, complete with cake, festive cheer and a sampling spectacular,” says co-host Pia McGee. “Everyone is welcome to come along and see what the Food Assembly is all about.”
The party will take place at the Steiner School’s main hall on Park Road from 5.30-7.30pm.
Pia says, “You don’t need to have placed an order to attend, and many of Frome’s finest producers will be sampling their produce and showcasing their Christmas wares.
“These include Ivy House Dairy with their organic Jersey milk brandy butters and creams; mince pies and Christmas treats from the Old Bakehouse and Taylors of Bruton; free range, pasture fed goose from Farm2Fork; and turkey and other Christmas meats from Bill the Butcher and New MacDonalds Farm – as well as a range of gift and household products from producers such as Bohobo Aromatherapies and Greenscents
“New producers include Parva Spices who blend fresh whole spices together to create authentic gourmet curry powders from across the globe; New MacDonalds Farm who raise (truly) free range traditional breed pigs for sausages, bacon and gammon, as well as free range, organic fed eggs; and Farm2Fork for free range, grass fed beef, lamb and chicken.”
“If you have never placed an order with the Frome Food Assembly before, why not give it a go?” adds co-host Lindsay Downes. “Simply visit our website or iPhone App, browse the products online and make your selection. There is no commitment to buy, and no minimum order quantities. And we will enter all first time orders into a Free Prize Draw for a Food Assembly bag!”
