Frome Voices is inviting singers to join in an exciting performance of Handel’s dramatic oratorio, Saul, next year.
Singers with and without experience, and all voice parts, are welcome. The performance will be at the Cheese and Grain, Frome, on Sunday 12th March, and the choir will learn the music over a period of nine weeks before that, starting in mid January.
The choir’s Jane Talbot says, “Rehearsals will be on Friday evenings, under the inspiring leadership of Alan Burgess, and we guarantee lots of laughter, new friends and fantastic music-making as we rise to the challenge of presenting a performance of the highest standard.
“Frome Voices is a very successful community-based choir that comes together to sing one major performance each year.
“In previous years people have called our performances ‘wonderful’, ‘spirited’, and that it was ‘incredibly moving to see it bringing together a community with so many local people involved’.
“So do join us! All singers, but particularly male voices, are welcome. The choir is keen to recruit young people too.”
There is a charge of £30, (free to those in full-time education), and music scores will be available to hire.
