LOCAL community organisation, Move the Mind, is appealing for volunteers to join their team.
The charity offers therapy for children with autism and additional needs using animals, riding and sensory work as a means of therapy.
Director of Move the Mind, Nicole Gillard says,“We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help on the farm. It would be great if you have some experience with children with additional needs, horses and other farm animals.
“We support families and schools in all weathers at the farm so you must be prepared to help in the rain! We are a fun loving enthusiastic team who work hard to operate the running of the farm and to make sure it’s a wonderful environment for children to thrive.
“If you feel you could spare a few hours a week to help, this could include; working with the horses, working with the children, gardening, labour work, administration or anything else please contact me on: nicole_gillard@icloud.com.
“References are required. DBS checks are needed to work alongside children.”
Move the Mind were last month celebrating after winning £50,000 of lottery funding. The money will be used to build an all-weather animal exercise arena and to build new paths around the farmland to make it wheelchair accessible.
