Frome’s Kindness Festival will return in March for a fifth year, inviting the community to eight days of fun, creativity and connection.
Led by The Good Heart, the festival is set to run from Saturday 14th to Saturday 21st March with music, poetry, talks, exhibitions, walks, workshops and joyful gatherings, creating space for connection, reflection and hope all through a prism of kindness.
This year, the festival is also teaming up with Window Wanderland, transforming the town with a week of colourful window displays inspired by the theme of ‘Hope’, turning Frome’s streets into a shared canvas of optimism and imagination.
Other town-wide projects will include a pop-up ‘Imagine More Kindness’ installation, school poetry displays, late-night openings at The Good Heart, community walks, and a festival exhibition from The Neighbourhood Network celebrating kindness in action across the town.
The festival is also going into every Frome school, running poetry writing workshops. Children’s poems about kindness will be shared throughout the festival.
The festival is calling on the community to get involved in a variety of ways, including imagining how local groups, schools or organisations could be more kind through events, workshops or creative activities, helping spread the word via social media, newsletters and conversations, and taking part as a volunteer, participant or visitor throughout the week.
Founder of the Kindness Festival Alison Murdoch said, “Highlights from the 2026 programme include an evening with writer and activist Rob Hopkins, a Friday night gig by the band Seize the Day, a special event for international poetry day with Rosie Jackson and an event that imagines more kindness in schools.
“It feels like we all need a bit more kindness in our lives at the moment and the 2026 festival will offer something for everyone; bringing local people together in fun, magical and uplifting ways.”
Most events will be free or low-cost, thanks to generous support and donations, ensuring the festival remains open and accessible to all.
The full programme will be available in early February and advance booking is now online at https://thegoodheart.uk/frome-kindness-festival/. The organisers can be contacted on fromekindnessfestival@gmail.com.
