EDVENTURE: Frome are doing one last shout out for local companies to have young people working in their organisations for free.
The deadline to get in touch about the Kickstart: Frome project is Monday 1st December.
Over 30 local organisations are already participating. Together, they have generated 88 placements so far – with many companies coming back and creating more placements after experiencing the benefits of their original application.
Edventure are an official gateway for the Government’s Kickstart Scheme which gives businesses 100% funding to provide paid job placements to people aged 16-24. Companies can have a young person (or people working) in their team 25-hours a week for 6 months, paid at the National Living Wage. Edventure handle the application process (with the Department of Work and Pensions) on businesses’ behalf and provide ongoing support for the young person to find a job once the placement finishes.
A requirement of the scheme is to deliver training to the young people in placements. Edventure delivers the mandatory 2 hour/week training on the business’ behalf – and has managed to add on a lot more besides!
