An event encouraging residents to learn more about the practice of Buddhism in daily life is due to be held this Saturday at RISE.
The free event will give residents the opportunity to find out more about Soka Gakkai Buddhism, an everyday practice for everyone.
“Buddhism is about enabling us all to become happy whatever our circumstances and to be the best version of ourselves,” explained one of the organisers, Kate Cochrane.
“By chanting, all sorts of problems can be overcome and positively changed.”
A small exhibition and a talk will be held during the day which is due to run from 2pm to 5pm, in the Old School Room in RISE.
“We promote peace, culture and education based on a humanistic philosophy,” says Kate. “We look forward to seeing you.”
