BATH and Somerset’s first ever Lego event, ‘Time for Bricks’, has raised £2,782.86 for local charity, Time is Precious.
Frome charity Time is Precious, (set up in memory of Ben Halford, who died from a brain tumour in 2010, by his parents Neil and Nicky Halford) held the event to raise awareness and vital funds for their upcoming projects to help improve the facilities and environment for children and their families whilst in hospital.
Organiser Neil Halford said, “What an awesome day at the Time for Bricks Lego event in aid of Time is Precious charity. We raised an amazing £2782.86.
“Thank you to everyone who came along and for being patient as we had 1,000 visitors come to see over 45 tables of Lego
“A massive thank you to all our exhibitors with their amazing Lego builds. Exhibitors came from all over the country, displaying things like a city, trains, Star Wars, even an Olympic stadium!
“We also had the Lego robot club allowing the children to get interactive. There was also a children’s build competition, retro section and build area.
“We would also like to thank Frome Self Storage for sponsoring our event, with the support of Sun Chemical, Docmail, Bristol Business Forms, Coleford Legion and not forgetting the Centurion Hotel in Midsomer Norton who let their premises be taken over by bricks!
“It was the first time the charity has held this event and we will be having another in the future.”
