FROME will mark Remembrance Sunday with a parade and service this Sunday, 9th November.
The parade will form up outside Keyford Drill Hall at 10.35am, before marching down to the memorial.
The service will commence shortly after 10.50am, in preparation for the two minutes’ silence.
Jane Norris, chairman of the Frome Branch of the Royal British Legion said, “The service is recognised throughout the nation, with the country stopping at the eleventh hour for a two-minute silence.
“Wreaths will be laid by representatives of organisations in Frome. This solemn time will end with an invitation for you to come forward with poppies.
“The event has had increasing numbers attend in the past few years, and this is intended to include and recognise all generations at the war memorial.”
The parade will be dismissed at 11.30am, when all will be welcome to retire to the Assembly Rooms for refreshments.
On Tuesday 11th November two minutes’ silence will be observed at the Frome War Memorial at 11am. RNA, RAFA and other service organisation Standards will be dipped.
