The Lions club of Frome held their annual charity golf day last Friday at Orchardleigh Golf Club and this year’s chosen charity was CRY, cardiac risk in the young.
The charity seeks to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families and the local branch is looking to support and offer screening to all young people in the locality.
Mark Symes, Lions press officer said, “The Golfers enjoyed a fantastic day’s golf and whilst the final sum has yet to be calculated, the total raised from the day will exceed £3,000.
“The Lions would like to thank everybody who helped on the day, the participants and the sponsors who supported the event, including one omission from the programme being Penleigh Butchers of Stony Street Frome.
“Full details of the various prize winners will be available on the Frome Lions Website. Overall winners on the day were Pearson May Accountants.”
