WESTBURY Lions have teamed up with Trowbridge Lions to stage their first ‘White Horse classic and vintage vehicle show’ with over 200 vehicles, fair rides and live entertainment, at the White Horse Country Park this Sunday, 2nd September, 10.30am-4pm.
Vehicles on display will include classic cars, motorbikes, agricultural and commercial vehicles, along with fair rides, stalls, a craft tent and live entertainment throughout the day.
This new event is hosted by both Lions clubs and sponsored by local businesses; Westcode Group UK, Hire Standards, Cult Status Cars and Platinum Motor Group.
Known for their annual Donkey Derby, Westbury Lions were asked to organise a different large-scale event and the idea of organising their first classic vehicle gathering was born.
Nigel Coward, Westbury Lions President said, “The event is shaping up nicely! Both clubs have been working very hard and it is all sorts of exciting. We have had lots of interest and the registrations for vehicles coming in are what you would expect to see and so much more. It’s amazing really and i’m feeling optimistic that we will exceed 200 different vehicles.
“We have Lamborghini, AC Cobras, classic Fords and the DeLorean will be back amongst a huge range of other vehicles. There will be live music and entertainment on the stage throughout the day, it’s going to be great!
“We will also be awarding trophies for the ‘Best in Show’ for each of the four vehicle classes and also an overall ‘Best in Show’ award for the most special vehicle in our judges’ eyes.
“All entry fees and funds raised from our charity stalls on the day will go towards charities and those in need within the communities of Westbury and Trowbridge.
“Whether you are a car or motorcycle enthusiast, a connoisseur of vintage tractors and commercial vehicles or are simply looking for a fun family day out, we are certain you will receive a warm welcome!”
Entry to the show is £5 per adult, with accompanying children free. For more information visit their website www.whitehorsevehicleshow.org or search for their Facebook page ‘White Horse Classic and Vintage Vehicle Show.’
