THE Merlin Theatre’s drama youth groups will once again go live again after almost a year of online classes.
The organisers report, “The workshop leaders can’t wait to see the students face to face although of course social distancing measures will still be in place for the time being.
“The groups running are on Tuesdays, musical theatre club for 7 -12 yrs. Focusing on technique and building confidence in the performing arts, students will learn song and dance routines from well-known musicals and pop songs.
“Youth theatre is for 12-16 yrs. This group explores a range of drama techniques, including character work and interpreting scripts, steering original ideas towards creating a quality public performance.
On Saturdays it is the turn for the drama club for 8 – 12 yrs
“This group builds a serious enthusiasm for the performing arts! In a session that is great for making friends and building confidence, you will learn a whole host of drama techniques, then work on devising your own piece of wonderful, creative and imaginative theatre.
“Groups start from Tuesday 8th June – 13th July and Saturday 12th June – 17th July for a six-week term. Full details of the groups are on the Merlin website. Please e mail merlintheatreproductions@gmail to request a registration form. Places are limited.
“Tri.art have announced that their summer school production at the Merlin this year is to be Oliver! Jr. for ages 10 -16 years.
