A HAYESDOWN First School pupil, Joey Raymond, who recently raised £30 after setting up a lemonade stand outside his house, has donated the proceeds to the local food bank.
Instead of spending the money on toys, Joey went to the local Asda to buy some food to donate to the food bank which is operated by Fair Frome. The staff at Asda say they were so impressed with Joey’s efforts that they bought him some toys as a thank you.
“We thought we would treat him to some toys for being so absolutely amazing!” said the staff. “Thank you, Joey – you’re the best!”
Lenka Grimes from Fair Frome added, “It’s wonderful to see members of our community, of all ages, getting involved in fundraising for us and thinking about those in our community that are less fortunate.”
As well as the food bank, Fair Frome also operates a community pantry, a furniture bank, a baby basics bank and more. For more information on their services, visit www.fairfrome.org
