LOCAL people will be coming together to run the Bath Half Marathon this month for the charity Time is Precious.
The charity which is based in Coleford, raises funds to buy equipment in order to improve facilities in local children’s hospitals and wards.
Neil Halford founder and trustee of Time is Precious said, “This year we have an amazing 126 runners taking part in Bath Half, which takes place on Sunday 13th March.
“We have 12 committee members that live in Frome, and 19 runners for the Bath Half that live in Frome, two of whom are Frome Town Football players. We also have Frome Town Football Club’s physiotherapist coming along to do massages on the day.
“Actor and patron, Will Thorp, who originates from Frome and whose family still live here, is also running with the Team Time is Precious. Also, comedian Russell Howard and his sister Kerry Howard will be running for us.”
This year, Frome-based transport company Shaun Burton Transport will be sponsoring the runners.
Nicola Andrews of Shaun Burton Transport said, “Shaun Burton Transport Ltd is proudly sponsoring Team Time is Precious for the Bath Half Marathon 2016. We came across the charity at the Wessex Truck Show and after a lengthy discussion with Neil from the charity, we decided we would love to get involved for such a worthwhile cause.
“The help and support it has already given to local hospitals is fantastic and its continued fundraising will no doubt help many other children and their families at difficult times.”
