Fair Frome, a local charity that provides the foodbank in Frome has been invited by local firm Cooper and Tanner to share their stand at this year’s Frome Show.
Fair Frome not only provide vital supplies with its foodbank, it now also provide meals for families, particularly those with young children, who might otherwise go hungry. The charity also has its own van for collecting and delivering donated furniture for households who are struggling to make ends meet.
Bob Ashford, Chair of Trustees of Fair Frome said, “We are delighted to have this opportunity to partner with Cooper and Tanner at this year’s Frome Show and would like to thank them for their continuing support.
“We hope that people will come and talk with our staff and Trustees and hear about our work and support us in any way they can. Demands on the charity seems to be growing, therefore any help and donations we receive will go a long way to helping deserving local families.”
Senior Managing Partner of Cooper and Tanner, Quintyn Howard-Evans said, “Cooper and Tanner have been involved with Frome Show for over 100 years. We provide assistance in running the Livestock classes, sponsor events and help with commentary on the day.
“My predecessor, Michael Joyce, auctions the cheese each year and we have a prominent and busy marquee on the site. We thought that we would channel some of that activity towards a good cause.
“As a firm we recognise that whilst Frome as a town has burgeoned over the past ten years – where other towns have not – not everyone in the town is seeing the benefit of that success.
“Fair Frome is an outstanding and egalitarian organisation which is doing fantastic work. However, they are always in need of financial support and both Bob and I are hoping that their presence on our stand will generate support and some much-needed financial assistance!
“If you are at the show do pop in and see us, if you don’t want to talk property, antiques or agricultural with us – talk to the lovely folk at Fair Frome instead. Either way both Bob and I will be delighted to see you.
“The Cooper and Tanner vintage Fergie Tractor will also be on the stand. Named ‘Uncle Dennis’ after our recently retired stalwart Dennis Barnard, the tractor can be enjoyed by enthusiasts young and old, with hopefully some donations being made to Fair Frome for the privilege.”
Frome Show is held this year on Saturday 14th of September at the West Woodlands show ground; Fair Frome and Cooper and Tanner can be found on Stand 95.
