A meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between Frome Town Council and Somerset Council was held recently at the town hall.
Hosted at Frome Town Hall and attended by MP Anna Sabine, the summit brought together Frome and Somerset councillors and senior officers to discuss some of the biggest opportunities and challenges facing Frome. These included housing, transport, health and wellbeing, the local economy and opportunities for young people.
Discussions throughout the day highlighted a shared ambition to ensure Frome remains a thriving, creative and inclusive town while also addressing growing pressures around housing affordability, infrastructure and access to services.
Leader of Somerset Council Bill Revans said, “It was fantastic to hear so many ideas about how Somerset Council and Frome Town Council can work together and to explore how we can strengthen our collaboration in the future for the benefit of our residents.”
Leader of Frome Town Council Cllr Fiona Barrows said, “My thanks today for the genuine engagement by Bill Revans, leader of Somerset Council, and his team. Today felt incredibly positive despite the enormous challenges facing us all. There was a real sense of shared purpose in the room and a recognition that by working together we can achieve far more for Frome than we can individually.”
The event is intended to be the first in an ongoing programme of collaborative conversations aimed at building stronger partnerships and delivering meaningful action for Frome.
