LOCAL woman, Helen Yates, will be taking part in a ‘swimathon’ later this month to raise money for charity.
Helen will be raising money for Cancer Research UK and terminal illness charity, Marie Curie. “Both my parents passed away from cancer, so these two charities are close to my heart,” said Helen.
“I will be taking part in a 5km ‘swimathon’ on the 30th March. This will be my fourth time taking part in this annual organised event at the Frome Leisure Centre swimming pool. The 5km will be 200 lengths, non-stop, in an Olympic size pool.”
As well as taking part in the ‘swimathon’ at Frome Leisure Centre on an annual basis, Helen also raised money for charity at an open water 5km ‘swimathon’ at Lakeside Country park in Eastleigh.
