A LOCAL woman will be donning her swimming cap on September 3rd to raise money for charities Sue Ryder and Look Good Feel Better.
Linda Tandy will be swimming 5K at Eton Dorney Lake in Windsor, an event organised by Human Race, the UK’s largest mass participation events company.
Sue Ryder is Human Race’s chosen charity, but Linda also wants to raise money for Look Good Feel Better, a cancer charity which provides practical free services for women and teenagers struggling with the visible effects of cancer.
Linda said, “I’ve been a volunteer for Look Good Feel Better for just under 10 years, visiting both the Royal United Hospital in Bath and the Bristol Royal Infirmary regularly to help with the make-up sessions.
“I’m a very keen swimmer and I swim up to three miles a week as and when I can whilst running my beauty business. I have been swimming recently in Vobster Quay in Radstock, it’s a great place for me to train for my forthcoming swim.”
