Over 70 lots went under the hammer recently at the South Parade Club’s auction, which raised over £840 for the club’s refurbishment programme.
Club secretary, Sandra Wells, was auctioneer for the night, and she was assisted by vice-chair, Christine Grant.
Sandra said, “We would like to express our sincere and grateful thanks for all the generous donations of items to be auctioned; from shops, businesses, cafes, restaurants and beauticians, as well as other local suppliers of goods and services, and private donations.
“It isn’t possible to name them individually, but the £848 raised was fantastic and we must thank everyone who came along on the night to bid so very generously for our items. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, and had fun in friendly company, as well as bagging themselves some great bargains.
“The raffle that was drawn during a half-time break from the auction raised £53 and again everything on the raffle table had been donated to the club. Proceeds from the raffle and our fundraiser auction are in aid of our refurbishment programme, for the benefit of existing as well as new members, and their families and guests. We look forward to seeing you all at our future events.
“The next fundraiser will be our Jumble Sale, on Saturday 16th June from 12.00 to 3.00pm as the South Parade Club, 7a South Parade, Frome BA11 1EJ”
