A NEW Frome tie, which features the buildings of Frome and is produced entirely in the town, has been released by the Mayor of Frome, cllr Dickon Moore, to sell throughout the year in order to help raise money for the mayor’s charities.
The design of the tie is by Steven Jenkins of Hogweed Pottery and Catherine Hill’s OWL and it is screen printed by ‘I Dress Myself’ who are based at The Silk Mill on Saxonvale. To help raise more funds, the tie is even stitched together by Kate, Dickon’s mother!
Dickon said, “The fact that you don’t have to leave Frome to design and manufacture a tie is fantastic; the level of expertise that is in the town is huge. The design is great and it’s all for a good cause, so please do get one for yourself, or they make a great present!”
And you even get free delivery to your door by the mayor himself on his bicycle!
Philippa Kaye of Absolutely Fabulous in the town heard about the new tie on twitter and emailed her request to the mayor. To her surprise, the mayor delivered the tie in person, arriving on his bike!
Look out for the mayor wearing the Frome tie to events, helping to promote it and raise much needed funds. The tie costs £30, with all profits going towards the Mayor’s charities: FROGS, Openstorytellers and Friends of the River Frome.
To purchase your own Frome Tie, email mayoroffrome@gmail.com with your name and address. There is a variety of colours which can be chosen when the tie is delivered.
