The Memory Cafe, run by the Frome Dementia Alliance (DAA), will be changing venue from Wednesday 7th August and meeting at the Frome Health Centre Cafe.
The group had been meeting at the Masonic Hall on North Parade since its launch in February last year. It will now be moving to what they say will be an ‘easily accessible location.’
The Memory Cafe, run by Frome DAA, provides a space for those living with dementia to meet with others and offers carers a chance to get together and chat about some of the issues they face.
“Some weeks there could be up to 20 attendees, and other weeks only four,” explained one of the organisers, Pam Brewster.
“We always have tea, coffee and biscuits and sometimes homemade cakes. The activities can vary from making cards to playing dominoes, playing Beetle, drawing and painting, having a talk by the Frome Museum, or an activity suggested by the clients,” says Pam.
“Frome DAA looks forward to meeting our clients and enjoying a chat or activities each week but in the new easily accessible location.”
The group meets every Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm.
