Trinity pupils had a Frome’s Missing Links assembly on Tuesday 20th June where they had the opportunity to thank the Frome Men’s Shed for installing an excellent scooter storage rack.
The Men’s Shed undertake small projects for other community groups, and when Frome’s Missing Links asked them to help provide storage to keep Trinity pupils’ scooters safe and tidy, they certainly rose to the challenge.
Colour-coded areas make it easier for pupils to find their scooter, and the wood is treated so that it should last for a good long time.
“Shedders” pictured are (left to right) Pete Gulliver, Ian Williams and Leon Russell. Other Shedders who worked on the scooter rack back in the shed included Patrick Abrahams, Rob Angell, Berne Sawle, Colin Pearce and others. The Frome Men’s Shed is based in the Welshmill Hub and is open every Thursday from 9am to 1pm. Anyone is welcome to visit or join in. The Men’s Shed provides men with a place to meet up, share and learn new skills, as well as chat and drink tea.
Also pictured are Trinity pupils who had just been awarded prizes in the “My Journey to School” photography competition, as well as “lucky dip” prizes for completing each day of the Frome’s Missing Links school travel challenge.
These included sets of bike lights donated by Charge Bikes, Halfords vouchers, and family swimming vouchers donated by Fusion Frome Pool. Pupils’ artwork and photography from the competition has been framed by Frome’s Missing Links and by kind donation by Mrs Jane Yates, and will be on view in the Town Hall during the Frome Festival.
