Modern function rooms to rent at Frome Canoe Club

Frome Canoe Club is inviting the community to hire rooms in its spacious clubhouse in Market Yard.

The clubhouse is based in the town centre with pay-and-display parking outside the front of the building, which is free during certain hours.

The building has two modern function rooms available for hire, or there is an option to hire the whole clubhouse.

Bookings secretary Ben said, “These versatile rooms are ideal for various occasions, such as functions, meetings, group gatherings, training, birthday parties and more.”

The downstairs space includes a kitchen area with an oven, fridge, sink, toaster, kettle, microwave and a TV/ monitor for presentations. It is wheelchair accessible, has four tables and 14 chairs and the space measures seven by 4.8 metres.

The upstairs space measures at 12.8 by 7.5 metres, has a projector and pull-down screen, a sofa area, five tables and 45 chairs; the sofas are big enough for 10 people.

Frome Canoe Club is a charitable organisation, the clubhouse opened in 2007. Ben said, “As a charity, we rely heavily on people hiring our clubhouse to help with the upkeep of the building.”

The club meets weekly for training sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings between 7pm and 9pm during the spring and summer months. It has a varied calendar of events, including white-water rafting and also has a slalom focus and competes in many events during the year, whilst hosting two national events.
