FROME Museum held a weekend exhibition over Remembrance to reflect on the impact of war in the town.
Barry Edwards, museum volunteer said, “On a wild, wet evening and surrounded by the evocative images and paraphernalia of Frome Museum’s current exhibition, about 40 guests reflected on the impact of war and its aftermath on the town.
“Cllr Rich Ackroyd, Mayor of Frome, introduced proceedings by commenting on the important role of the museum in the life of the town.
“After that, three volunteers spoke movingly about the sacrifices made by members of their own families in both world wars and about the mental and physical scars that the returning troops manifested.
“Guests then quietly toured the exhibits in the company of resplendently-dressed volunteer, Andy Baillie, who had devised the exhibition.”
