LOCAL music charity, Evolve Music, has been selected to be part of the Big Give Arts Impact programme and must raise £2,500 in just one week between 19th March and 26th March which will then be match funded by Big Give Champions.
Evolve Music delivers free community music sessions for neurodiverse young people from Frome each Friday evening. It also delivers the ever-popular Dads Rock project, which provides fortnightly music sessions for dads/male caregivers and their little ones on Saturday mornings at the Key Centre on Feltham Lane.
The charity has been operating since 2017 and has given hundreds of local residents the opportunity to work with professional musicians and connect with their local community through music.
“If we can raise £2,500, it will be generously matched by Big Give’s Champions, raising the total to £5,000, which will help the charity deliver more free music sessions to local young people and families,” explains a spokesperson for Evolve Music.
These funds will be used to support Evolve Music’s early years music programme, which includes the Saturday Dads Rock project.
Chair of the charity, Claire King, said, “This is an exciting opportunity for Evolve Music. We’re looking to raise £5,000 to support our far-reaching early years programme that makes a real difference to people’s lives. If we can raise £2,500 then Big Give will match it and this will enable us to grow the work we feel so passionate about.”
The campaign kicks off at 12pm on Tuesday 19th March and runs until 11.59am on Tuesday 26th March. All donations made via the Big Give website between this time will be matched (up to £2,500).
