A bold banner is hanging in the Cattle Market car park, inviting residents and visitors alike to ‘be the seed of change’ and explore Green and Healthy Frome’s free resources, events and activities.
Located near the Community Fridge, where Justice Lane meets the car park, the vibrant artwork created by local artist Jenna Herman maps out Green and Healthy Frome’s community-led initiatives — from e-bike loans and group bike rides to the Seed Library and local food directory, sewing and mending sessions, energy advice and much more.
“This banner is more than just a billboard,” says chair and Frome Town Council councillor Fiona Barrows. “It’s an invitation to everyone in our town to join a movement that will help build a healthy community and planet — one small step at a time.”
Residents are invited to pose with the banner and post on social media to help spread Green and Healthy Frome’s message.
Be the seed of change: Green and Healthy Frome say there are various ways in which residents can ‘Be the Seed of Change’:

Why this matters
Green and Healthy Frome is a National Lottery-funded initiative that believes healthy people and a healthy planet go hand in hand.
The group is encouraging as many people as possible to take advantage of all the free resources, events and activities it has on offer. It hopes that by making it easier than ever to discover and use the practical tools and support available to reduce waste, save energy and nourish wellbeing, they can build a healthier, greener, fairer Frome for all.
New social media home
To coincide with the launch, Green and Healthy Frome is also simplifying their online presence. You can find them at @greenhealthyfrome on both Instagram and Facebook.
Co-executive director of Edventure, Esther Maughan McLachlan, said, “From receiving support to access energy grants to eco-parenting tips on Green Hacks Day, Green and Healthy Frome offers a wealth of free resources to help you, and the planet, be healthier. So why not pop down to the banner, see what’s on offer, share a photo and become part of Frome’s thriving story.”
