NEW “deployable” CCTV has been introduced by local police to combat a rise in crime and anti-social behaviour in Victoria Park and Mary Bailey playing field.
Local police report, “Throughout 2020 Frome Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) has seen an increase of criminality and anti-social behaviour (ASB) occurring within Victoria Park and Mary Bailey playing field, Frome.
“Incidents have varied from assaults, criminal damage, public order and ASB.
“As a result of this continued demand and to provide reassurance, Avon and Somerset Constabulary have erected a deployable closed circuit television (CCTV) system in the area.
“Working in partnership with Frome Town Council it is hoped that the CCTV system will deter this behaviour from occurring and assist in keeping our communities parks safe.
“If you experience any of the issues highlighted, we urge you to report it as it is happening on 999, 101 or via the force website as appropriate.”
