FAIR Frome, which runs the foodbank and other projects designed to address issues of poverty and acute need, have appointed a new coordinator to run their Furniture Bank.
The new coordinator, Nick McCulloch, has a wealth of experience in the removals business, which he is bringing to the project and is a very welcome addition to the team at Fair Frome.
The Furniture Bank accepts referrals from local partners for people on a low income who are struggling to purchase essential items for their homes and can provide anything from single items to more extensive provision of goods, depending on availability.
The project relies upon the donation of good quality, clean items which meet fire regulations etc and are suitable for smaller properties and can then be collected free of charge.
Fair Frome job share coordinator, Lenka Grimes said, “Nick is a brilliant asset to Fair Frome. The Furniture Bank had to close at times because of Covid restrictions, but we always tried to deal with emergencies. Having Nick on board means the service is now fully operational again.
“We especially need white goods like fridges and washing machines in good working order and cookers if they are electric. Other items we desperately need are sofas (2-seater), small chests of drawers, bedside cabinets, beds and clean mattresses, small tables and chairs. Nick can advise if you call or email him.”
If you wish to refer someone or donate goods, please contact Nick on: fairfromefurniture@gmail.com or call him on: 07718 652991.
