FROME announces the release of two new smartphone applications for iPhone and Android that make getting around the town and visiting top attractions and sites even easier.
The town has recently released the ‘Frome App’ and the ‘Shop in Frome App’. The ‘Frome App,’ specially created for Android and iPhone users, provides travellers with a host of helpful hints and top points of interest to ensure visitors make the most of their visit.
From the beautiful St. Catherine’s Quarter to the famed artisan markets and cool cafes, the app guides users along the way with interesting facts and travel tips. A theme filter allows users to tailor exactly what they are looking for, such as heritage, arts, retail, youth or active excursions. If you think you know Frome well the app may still surprise you.
The ‘Frome App’ is a Frome Town Team Project lead by Creative Frome. Funding has been provided by Somerset County Council’s Creative Industries Development Fund and Frome Town Council. Time and images have been given by the Town Team helped by individuals and organisations in Frome.
Launched alongside the ‘Frome App,’ the ‘Shop in Frome’ App makes finding the top shops, designer boutiques and pop-up sales easy, providing visitors with the latest retail intelligence right at their fingertips.
With a wonderful selection of independent shops selling stylish artisan products, from the quirky boutiques along the beautiful cobbled streets of St. Catherine’s and Cheap Street to the delicious organic produce (sourced straight from local allotments) at one of the town’s famed markets, the ‘Shop in Frome App’ is a shoppers dream, whether they’re on a quest for the best cup of coffee or the latest piece from a local designer / maker.
Dickon Moore, mayor of Frome commented, “We’re absolutely thrilled that with its’ usual enthusiasm the town is launching new mobile apps this summer and are confident that both visitors and locals alike will download them in droves.”
